Backsliding

I had been making excellent progress towards getting rid of this excess weight, and was feeling much thinner. Well, I've had a lapse and have slid back up the scale a few pounds. Its not the end of the world, mind you, but its very frustrating, as now I have to regain the equillibrium I had obtained, and take a few pounds back off yet again. It started innocently enough--dinner out with my kids, and a dessert of sugar free ice cream with sugar free hot fudge. Next was "Oh, I'm tired after work, so I'll just have a quick breakfast on my way home". That particular trap I resisted, though not completely. Instead of breakfast out, I had pickled herring in sour cream and vanilla seltzer. Now I've succumbed to the evil that is pizza, and I feel bloated, not to mention thirsty thanks to the sodium content. Tomorrow is another day and I'll just have to suck it up and take it one meal and one day at a time. On the positive side, I did get in extra exercize by walking laps in the parking lot at work when I took a break.
