Gravity is working

While the scale has been stalled for the last 5 weeks, my body has definitely been undergoing some changes. Today while trying on some lingerie (it was time for new bras in a slightly smaller size--of course one MUST get cute matching panties to go along), I noticed that my upper torso is much thinner, and my lower torso much droopier. *lol* While my hips and lower abdomen have yet to really reduce in circumfrence, they are significantly less dense. I'm spongier--I hope this is a good thing! My face is thinner, yet is exhibiting a slight disposition towards the dread jowled look. Since I'm not all that thrilled about looking like a Basset hound, I hope I have enough elasticity in my skin to counteract the effects of gravity as I continue on this journey towards a far off land called Svelt. Tommorrow I meet with a personal trainer who I am hoping will keep my arse in gear to jumpstart my metabolism and help me get off of this bloody plateau.

On other fronts, the youngest and I went to the drive in last night. Its wonderful that there are still a few left, because its a wonderful way to spend an evening. How much more child friendly can you get? Its also a hell of a deal, since $5 per person over 12 buys you an old cartoon from the 60s or early 70s and two first run movies. After the film is over, the stars are magnificent!
We saw Fever Pitch and Herbie. Fever Pitch was a cute but overwhelmingly mediocre film, and is only great if you are a Red Sox fan. Since I could care less about organized sports in general, and baseball in particular, I'm sure much of the film's charm was lost on me. Drew Barrymore has also bought into the "anorexically thin is sexy" trend that seems to be prevalent these days, which is a shame as she was simply gorgeous before she lost weight. Herbie fully loaded was a bit thin at times, but I enjoyed it immensely simply because of nostalgia over the original Herbie films. Being no great fan of sports, I'm also not a NASCAR afficionado, and prefer Herbie ad free, however, I was kvelling all over the place at the sight of that good old 63 bug. My dream car of all time is a 1963 Volvo, but the Volkwagon Beetle is not far behind, so long as its a pre-1979 model.
