I suspect all the physical activity is paying off at last, and I may be kicking this plateau to the curb once and for all. Instead of the scale bouncing around at 212 or so, its been bouncing between 207 and 208--this with the fluid retention of PMS. The ever elusive one hundreds are almost within reach.I can't recall the last time I was under 200 pounds--I think I hit the 190s back in 1998, but its been so long I honestly can't recall what it felt like. At that weight my ex was making comments about how huge my waist was becoming, and generally being more cruel than supportive which only served to demoralize me instead of helping motivate me to change matters. Well, since March 18th when I began I've taken 3 inches off my waistline, and the nearness of the 190s are definitely serving to motivate me. I may be far from svelte, but I'm at least on the road there, and am looking forward to my annual bloodwork. My cholesterol hs been high, and I'm hoping its getting back out of the danger range and into a normal range as I shed the excess weight.
I know one difference that is becoming obvious, is the fact that many of my scrubs are now much too large. Some of the pants work fine, but others are starting to have an unflattering pouch of extra material in the front--a pouch that used to be full of me, and now hangs slack. A few tops are absolute tents on me, and I'm going to have to spend some time altering them, since I'm now down to a few of the scrubs made years ago when I was much thinner. I figure that I'll have to invest in some new ones by the time I hit the 180's or so. By then it'll be a nearly 50 pound loss, so I would say I would have earned some new scrubs. Hopefully I'll be able to fit into my gorgeous embroidered white uniform dress that I have never yet fit into--its a size 20, but a tiny 20, and I purchased it on clearance for $5 in the hopes of one day being able to wear it. It seemed impossible for the longest time, but now that the plateau appears to over, it looks like it might be a possibility yet.
Oh, I had set some rewards for myself, and now that I've hit the 20 pound mark, I can actually get my first one: having my hair set in a vintage 1930's style. I'll post photos once I have it done. :)
