I can barely keep my eyes open

I'm a major crabass today. I've had not nearly enough sleep and its catching up with me, plus its bloody hot with about 400% humidity. I feel like a wrung out towel. We stopped at a rest area to nap on my way home from work because I was just plain beat and was struggling to concentrate on driving, but it was so hot in the car I took a risk and napped on the grass at the rest area. I'm not entirely comfortable about that since a number of women have disappeared from Vermont over the last 20 years, and one had been kidnapped at that rest area and was later found murdered. Admittedly it was in 1987, but it remains unsolved to this day. Still, it was daylight and my daughter was reading right next to me with the cellphone in her lap, so it was better option than heatstroke in the car or falling asleep and crashing. Upon arriving home I fell into bed and slept for what felt like four seconds, but was actually four hours. More sleep would have been marvelous, but I had an appointment with my son's therapist and did not want to miss it.

Around eight we headed to the gym, to get some relief from the sweltering humidity. Between fatigue and the heat I wasn't up for a real workout, but hopped in the pool and eked out 5 laps. Its not much of a workout, but it was something, and the cool water felt heavenly. After showering I put my wet swimsuit top on with the dry shorts I wore in, and thats served nicely as a cooling device. NSV for me is that the shorts (skort in actuality) now have two finger's beadth worth of space that wasn't there a few months ago--they had been on the cusp of being so snug I wouldn't be able to wear them any longer, and now they are slightly loose. :D

At any rate, I'm home again, flopped on the bed feeling totally worn out, but cooler, especially with the fan trained directly on me. I've got a litre bottle of seltzer, my Harry Potter novel, and a comfy pillow. Guess what's in my immediate future?

Hi there...first - congrats on the NSV of the skort - that's great!! Second - enjoy your reading - but third - I must admit to a strange disappointment..I came looking for and expecting to meet a half-liquid man - and it all started out right with the hot day and high humidity - but no liquid man....guess I'll have to check back again. :)
