I'm a maniac

an exercise maniac that is. Well, I'm actually also literally a Mainiac, seeing as I grew up in Maine. (Yarmouth as a child and then inland a bit to East Waterford for high school) I miss the ocean dearly, but otherwise can't say I miss a lot else about the state. I guess its a case of familarity breeding contempt, since I left to escape the close mindedness and bigotry of the areas I lived in. Hopefully things have changed since I left some 20 years ago.

At any rate, back to exercise world...Two days in a row I've put in a good workout, something I'm rather pleased with myself about, since aside from swimming, exercise is not one of my favourite things. Yesterday I logged 35 minutes on the cross trainer (equivalent to 2 miles), hopped on a yoga ball and did some ab and back toning, then grabbed weights and worked on my arms. My triceps are loudly telling me that I worked them well and should be free of fear of "wings" in the future should I keep this up. That finished, I swam a quarter mile, though only one lap of butterfly. I've been shooting for three pool lengths or 1.5 laps of butterfly each time I swim, however with the workout I had just completed, my ams needed a break. The day before I did 35 minutes on the eliptical trainer (2.3 miles), and then hit the yoga ball for ab, back and arm toning.

After I put in a few hours cleaning at home (I've been too tired to even contemplate housework lately, so it needs to be done rather badly), it'll be back to the gym again. Today's agenda will include more cardiovascular work, still more abs (they seem to be difficult to work well--perhaps because the extensive padding gets in the way), and some leg work, but the arms will be getting a well deserved break aside from swimming. Since I'll be working the weekend, I want to be sure I've had a good few days of exercise before heading down.

On other fronts, today is

weigh in day! Its week three of the challenge and my weigh-ins thus far have been:

starting weight 209

week one 208

week two 206

week three 204

Thats five more pounds gone and only four more to get to my next person goal of getting below 200 pounds.
