Ow!

Its a fact--pop is BAD for you. Last night at the drive in, my daughter dropped a two litre bottle of Dr. Pecker on my toe, breaking it. Its now twice its normal size and a lovely shade of purple. It also hurts like a SOB, which sucks since I work the next two nights and will be on my feet for 13 hours at a pop. Lets hope for holiday low census so my foot gets a break.

In addition to the toe, I'm also sore as hell from the workout yesterday. My quadroceps are so tight and sore that the act of squatting to sit on the potty is excruciating, which is double the discomfort if your bladder is full. Oh to pee standing up... My triceps are also sore, but those are smaller muscles, so its not as bad. One set of soreness I do relish is the fact that my abs are sore from top to bottom--those suckers have needed work for quite some time now, so this is a sign I finally got through the flab to them. I'll have to keep up the good work there. To target them and my arms, I sat on an exercise ball, leaned back so I was using my abs, and then played catch with an 8 pound fitness ball. Each time I caught the sucker, I held it out to the right, then out front, and finally off to the left before throwing it back--tossing with palms dorsiflexed so it targeted the triceps even more. This got my entire abdominis rectus, my obliques, and the triceps. I'll have my body back again one of these days!

To top matters off, the scale (which has insisted on bouncing around between 213 and 211 for five weeks now), has finally budged just a little, and is showing 210 this morning. I have a fresh batch of Nutrisystem food, so I'm set to be on program for a few days while I'm off at work. The hotel gym isn't as complete, but its enough to do the trick, though I think I'll just swim tomorrow, given how very sore I am. Lactic acid is currently ruling the day.

Yeoooowwww!!! I really hate that you broke your toe, hon. That bites! I broke my big toe a few years ago and it was hell on wheels.

Hearing you talk about your workouts though ~ what an inspiration! I've been away from the gym for a while and I can't wait until I'm healed enough to start again.

You take care!
