Smaller Shelving

My commute to and from work is a doozy--two hours each way. I love my job, so I continue with the commute, though with the proce of gas escalating to European proportions, I am giving serious though to purchasing an old diesel and converting it to run on used vegetable oil. At any rate, I often drink iced tea (unsweetened--nectar of the gods), water, seltzer, or some other beverage while I commute. The water is good for me and the torturously full bladder keeps me awake--especially on the way home in the morning after my 13 hour shift! I've gotten in the habit of balancing my beverage on my "shelf", aka my abdomen. Yes, I have to support it with my hand lest it fall and give me a bath, but its rested quite comfortably until recently. My shelf is dwindling, to the point that I now must stick a finger under the cup to keep it balanced--the finger taking the space of the now missing shelf. This is a fabulous development! Dwindling shelves mean a more define waistline, and that is always a grand thing. My seatbelt is fitting better as well, now that my "dunlop diosease" is heading into remission. *grin* What is dunlop's disease? Simple--its when your belly "dunlopped over" your belt. For a while it seemed as if I would never make it to 200 pounds again--the scale just kept creeping up. At last, its headed int he right direction again, and I saw 211 today for the first time in years. I can't remember the last time I was at 211--it has to have been at least 3 years or so--perhaps more. I'm starting to have fantasies of what it will be like to step on the scale and have the leading digit be a one instead of a two. What a delightfully sexy number "one" is.
