When I am thinner I want to...

The following list comes from the blog of dollmouth, a woman who has just had bariatric surgery. I wish her the best and a speedy recovery! I also particularly relate to #15.

So I have been thinking of some things I can’t wait to do. Stuff that I have not been able to do in a long time or ever, because of my size or health. Here are a few of the things I have come up with:

1. Cross my legs, not just my ankles.
2. Play kick ball in the back yard with my daughter (for more than 5-10 minutes)
3. Get a Piggy Back ride.
4. Not have to sit "sideways" in the seats at the theater (playhouse, not movies)
5. Buy pretty lingere
6. Not to "pose" for pictures (big girls know what that means)
7. Take the stairs
8. Give away all my fat clothes (and not need to replace them in 6 months)
9. Take my kids roller-skating!!! Or try ICE-skating.
10. Sit in my husbands lap for more than two minutes.
11. Not have to hear "Oh, but you have such a pretty face".
12. No more heat rash!
13. Wear an ankle bracelet or even bracelet’s for that matter.
14. No more "blind shaving" Believe me, that can be dangerous.
15. No more fighting with nightclub bathroom stalls. Really, who do they think we are, Hobbits?

16. Never shopping at Lane Bryant’s AGAIN.
17. Apply for the job I really want. And know that I can safely do the job.
18. Be in a Race For The Cure, in memory of both my Grandmothers.
19. Let my husband show me New York City at his pace and on foot.
**20. Buy a pair of Jimmy Choo's. AND WEAR THEM ALL NIGHT LONG!

I'll post my own list later--for now I have to go clean and then its off to my daughter's 8th grade graduation!

My list:

1. Have a back and hips free of pain
2. No longer being bothered by plantar fasciitis
3. Be able to easily find lots of nice skirts and dresses that fit and are flattering
4. Being able to shop on the junior side of Fashion Bug rather than the plus half
5. Matching bra and panty sets!
6. No longer worrying about whether my double chin will show in candid photos
7. Needing far fewer rest stops when hiking
8. Enjoying the ability to sleep on my back without feeling crushed by my own weight
9. Being able to cross my legs again
10. NO more chafed inner thighs!
11. Ditto to the no more blind shaving mentioned above.
12. Ditto to #15 above--room to turn in miniscule public potty cubicles
13. Skydiving flight suits that FIT. (I had to jump in scrub pants and a sweater as they didn't have a suit to fit my anvil self
14. Fitting into my pretty little nursing uniform dress (the small one)
15. Having to replace the aforementioned pretty white nursing dress with a new one because IT has become too large
16. A cute swimsuit without a skirt.

Nice list! I started writing one when I started on NS but never finished it. Indeed I think i lost it... I think I might do another one. This is neat.

I love your list. I thought you were reading my mind. I guess we are all in the same boat.
