While I have work as usual this week, it feels like a nice holiday thanks to my coworker Melissa. Melissa is a traveling nurse and rarely uses the hotel room her agency pays for. She generously let me use the room, which is wonderful because its a beautiful room, and saves me a huge commute. Since school is now out, my youngest came along with me, and has been reveling in television, air conditioning, comfy beds, and the pool.
I'm pleased in particular because I've been keeping up with my exercise while away, and have done anywhere from 13-15 laps per day in the pool. Yesterday I also did a high resistance 20 minutes on the crosstrainer, to the tune of 275 calories. I'm hoping to see a drop in the scale when I get back home--I may anyhow as Auntie Flo decided to pay a visit today, so I'll be shedding some water weight that keeps bumping me up to the 212 mark again.I REALLY want to see 209 or below on Saturday morning! Its time to see the scale budge, and the plateau broken...
On a less positive note, or perhaps it is a positive development, despite a less than appealing nature, I've discovered that certain foods simply can not be a part of my gustatory repetoir anymore. :) My daughter wanted chinese, so we went to place that the folks at work rave about, despite bestowing it with the nickname "The Running Dog". I had seafood and vegetables, but they were far greasier than I thought they would be, and within an hour my body made its displeasure known. Nausea and heavy feeling in a pit of my stomach coupled with the roaring of about 15 choirs in my lower digestive tract. Say...I think I may have figured out why its a RUNNING dog. *lol* Oh well--lesson learned. I'll just stick to my regular food. I'm running low on my nutrisystem meals, but a new shipment goes out Thursday so then I'll again have some variety. Unfortunately, no new bear, but variety will be a very welcome thing, and will help keep me on track, rather than being tempted to eat things that are off plan.

Ok, here's a tip I learned about getting over the plateau... eat a lot of protein. For some reason, this triggers the body to come out of a starvation mode that results in a plateau.
