Muscle Fatigue

This morning was my first session with Ramsey, my new personal trainer. At the time it didn't feel like that much of a workout--it was enough that I felt I had certainly put in a good effort, but not so much I was at the point of sheer exhaustion and wanting to melt into a puddle on the floor. By the time I had showered however, my body realised what it had just done and my poor quadroceps were calling uncle--especially my left quad, which had been fatigued to the point of failing. Suprisingly, I'm not wiped out, but I am aware of muscles I've not used in a while. After I see how I fare in the lactic acid department tomorrow, I may ask him to up the intensity more, so I'm really pushing beyond my comfort zone.

We did a combination of things, including a bunch of things on the stability ball for abs, arms, and back, treadmill time for cardiovascular work, free weights for the upper body, a GREAT triceps workout that only uses a wall and my own weight, and lunges for the legs. I had no idea my left leg was weaker until it simply could not get me back up from that last lunge--a lunge the right leg had completed with effort, but completed. Good to know, because now I can target that side a bit more. Was it worth the $30 for the hour? You bet it was! I now have some good basic things to add to my workout--things that will help target muscles in need of toning and which require little in the way of equipment.

I had a personal trainer back in 1996. Oh he was SO handsome! I was single at that moment SO I was allowed to flirt a bit ;0) He left to Irak with the ARMY on 1998. Haven't heard of him ever since.

It was a wonderfull experience. Whent from size 18 to 6 in nine months.

$30 an hour is totally worth it! Although I used to pay $50 per session. But it was totally worth it!
