National Nurse's Week

This week is, you guessed it, National Nurse's Week. To observe it, I have been wearing my traditional uniform all week, and brought my camera in just for fun. The photos below are shots taken by my amused (and bemused) co-workers. The overwhelming response was that ancillary staff loved it and wished all nurses would return to that form of dress, but nursing staff thought I was absolutely loopy. I was called Nurse Rachett and informed I looked like something out of the 1940s--all said with humour of course. It was a blast--I wouldn't want to wear it all the time as the white is boring and hardly slimming, but for one week of the year, its something I'll continue.

Last October, the last time I wore that uniform, it was on the snug side. To my delight, it is much more comfortable these days, though the overall appearance doesn't seem to have changed much thanks to the elastic in the back. I have another white dress, even prettier, that I've been using as a goal. Its a size 20, and currently gaps open in the front about 4 inches, down from a 6 inch gap a few months ago. While a 20 blouse fits nicely, my hips simply won't fit, so the dress will continue to be a goal. Hopefully it'll fit in another 20 pounds or so.
